I’m not all to familiar with this sort of medicine seeing as I just stumbled upon it, but lets try and learn together. Here is a definition of naturopathic medicine from a naturopathic medical clinic just down the road in Palo Alto, it’s called Natural Health California.

Naturopathy (also known as naturopathic medicine or natural medicine) is an alternative medical system that focuses on natural remedies and the body’s vital ability to heal and maintain itself. Naturopathic philosophy favors a holistic approach and minimal use of surgery and drugs. Citation

The clinic that I stumbled upon seems pretty legit. All of the doctors came from amazing schools and hold doctoral or post doctoral degress. They outline their services and how they will treat your condition without the use of conventional medicine, which I think is awesome. They treat a multitude of ailments such as:

  • autism
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • ADD
  • mental disorders
  • PMS and other women issues
  • allergies
  • pain
  • heavy metal toxicity
  • digestive issues
  • detoxification

All the while they use no conventional medicine. Here is the catch though, many if not all insurance companies will NOT reimburse you. So unfortunately naturopathic medicine is only a luxury for the wealthy, or  for those who save up. I personally would love to save up enough for a few visits and detoxification sessions. They can be a bit pricey, but not anymore so than a regular doctor, it’s just that you don’t get a reimbursement. Here is the link for the naturopathic medicine clinic in Palo Alto. I do hope some of you find yourselves checkin them out!
